This is an entertaining read and a rather fresh approach to the whole ISIS situation.
We would like to point out to the readers that this piece has been queued for publication for some time and in that space one of Tom’s predictions regarding forces being deployed due to the “Ebola outbreak” has materialized.
Tom is a shrewd observer, analyst and opinion maker. Read more from behind the lines, behind the editorials abound and ponder on the wider game.
President Obama’s speech announcing war with ISIS has been hailed in the non-mainstream press as a harbinger of war with Syria, paving the way for an assault on Lebanon and Iran. (I would add to that mix the creation of what I call “Israeli Kurdistan” from Iraq and a portion of Turkey[i], dispossession of Palestinians and expulsion of Gaza residents into the Sinai and further expansion of Eretz or greater Israel as the future seat of AngloZionist world government.[ii])
The more farsighted see in Obama’s war announcement and in the ISIS Caliph’s almost simultaneous threats to attack Russia an even more sinister motive of reinstating the Reagan-era mujahedeen and Bush-Clinton-era Chechen state-sponsored terrorism against the former Soviet Union and then Russia. (Not surprisingly, Saudi Arabia, which was heavily involved in funding and proselytizing both of the aforementioned terrorist enterprises, was similarly involved in the creation of ISIS/ISIL.)
While no one has mentioned it, the sheer blatant nature of Mr. Obama’s call for an illegal aggressive war on Syria—without Congressional approval (especially after the 2013 Russian-brokered Syrian peace deal) can be seen as a bare-faced provocation. One rubber stamped by Vice President Kerry. Could the Russians be persuaded to make a bad chess move, sacrificing either Syria or Ukraine?

Actually, I believe, all of these outcomes are Neocon erotic dreams—the occurrence of any or all being mere icing on a plan that is multidimensional and a true exemplar of asymmetric warfare—against Russia and, secondarily, Eurasia as a whole . It’s not about money, but power of the type called for by the likes of Henry Kissinger. (Israel as a state remains officially neutral in this, but its Neocon proxies are quite involved.) And the end result could be a change in world governance and order more sweeping than that following the Second World War.
GENESIS AND PURPOSE OF ISIS
“For the past several years the word “ISIS” has stood for the “International Secret Intelligence Service,” the employment domicile for a clueless, cartoonishly suave James Bond-type of secret agent named Sterling Archer. Archer is quite literally a cartoon character. The series Archer is one of the adult animated comedies running on FX and Fox. Archer, the agent, and his team at ISIS are out to save the world for fun and profit. The characters on the show lack any moral grounding whatsoever, which is what makes it funny. (http://archer.wikia.com/wiki/ISIS)”
(“Why the Current Incarnation of ISIS is No Joke,” Howard Barbanel writing in Huff Post Political, June 19th, 2014)
The genesis of ISIS is virtually a cartoon akin to the old Superman comic books. An unknown organization sneaks past the intelligence services of all the world powers and evades all electronic and satellite surveillance, gets access to large supplies of weapons and cash, and suddenly begins major conquest. Supposedly Wahhabist, the organization curiously does not threaten Israel, is helped by Israeli artillery fire during battles with Syrian troops on the Golan, and has wounded fighters treated in Israel when hundreds of critically injured Gazan children are left to die.
Speculation abounds as to the identity of the backers of ISIS. So also does evidence such as photos and reports indicating ISIS jihadists disposed of “significant quantities” of U.S.-made small arms including M-16 assault rifles showing the markings “Property of U.S. Govt.” Islamic State (IS/ISIS/ISIL) fighters appear to be using captured US military issue arms and weapons supplied to moderate rebels in Syria by Saudi Arabia.[iii]
I won’t belabor this point here as it has been run up and down the flagpole by numerous sources, but ISIS apparently has had considerable help—not just from the U.S., but from Saudi Arabia, Israel, Turkey and several other states.
More important are the (asymmetric) purposes for which ISIS was created—and these may actually have something to do with the cartoon-ISIS logo above, namely, creation of a non-Eurasian world government (“AngloZionist” for want of a better term.)
In an article in the Washington Post, Sept. 4th, 2014, Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former Secretary of State who argued for massive arming of what now turns out to be ISIS, reviews Henry Kissinger’s upcoming book “World Order”[iv]:
“His analysis, despite some differences over specific policies, fits with the broad strategy behind the Obama administration’s effort over the past six years to build a global architecture of security and cooperation for the 21st century,” she said. “When Americans look around the world today, we see one crisis after another. Russian aggression in Ukraine, extremism and chaos in Iraq and Syria, a deadly epidemic in West Africa, escalating territorial tensions in the East and South China seas…The liberal international order that the United States has worked for generations to build and defend seems to be under pressure from every quarter.”
Most of the events she cites are creations—possibly all of them—related to the war that ISIS was designed to facilitate. (Ebola, alleged to be manmade by some in the African press, facilitates the military occupation of parts of Africa to deny access to raw materials by target countries.)
Clinton, who may be the next U.S. President, goes on to state that “no viable alternative” remains for the future and that Kissinger’s book makes a compelling case for why we have to do it (i.e., build a new “global architecture”—Ed.) and how we can succeed.” She adds: “I was proud to help the president begin reimagining and reinforcing the global order to meet the demands of an increasingly interdependent age…Kissinger is a friend, and I relied on his counsel when I served as Secretary of State.”
(Julian Assange’s WikiLeaks in 2013 released1.7-million classified files known as the “Kissinger Cables,” which revealed Kissinger’s deep involvement in what amounts to a multi-decade planetary bloodbath not limited to the strategic interests of the U.S. Perhaps foreshadowing the current ISIS situation, Kissinger, also a former US Secretary of State, is quoted as saying in 1975:“Before the Freedom of Information Act, I used to say at meetings, ‘The illegal we do immediately; the unconstitutional takes a little longer.”)[v]
To generalize, ISIS can be used as a disciplinary tool against any Mid Eastern or Eurasian power deviating from the world-order agenda imposed by the AngloZionist power structure. Terrorist attacks on wayward powers can simply be blamed on ISIS. For instance, the following hypothetical situation: missing Japanese weapons-grade plutonium from Fukushima finds its way into missing Libyan commercial jet airliners, supposedly then used by ISIS for nuclear blackmail.
With regard to Eretz or “Greater” Israel it appears the goal of creating an anti-ISIS coalition is to create a regional consensus among Arab governments to allow Israel to continue annexation of the West Bank and Gaza, possibly expelling some Palestinians into the Sinai Desert, a plan Egypt’s leader is already claimed in the Israeli press to be on board with. (According to a report by Daniel Williams on Reuters, September 8th, 2014, Israeli Finance Minister Yair Lapid, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet, told a conference hosted by the IDC Herzliya college near Tel Aviv that Israel should “build a coalition of sanity” in which Israeli intelligence “is part of the regional effort” against Islamic State, Lebanon’s Hezbollah group and al Qaeda.)
More specifically, ISIS seems designed to attain the following non-conventional objectives:
I. Control of Turkey/Turkish-Russian Relations
Turkey, like Iran, is enjoying a resurgence of regional power. While Turkey reportedly helped ISIS—no doubt to nip Kurdistan in the bud—it now faces strong NATO support of Kurdistan (what I call Israeli Kurdistan as it is a de facto Israeli colony as is Azerbaijan.)
For Turkey, support of ISIS has produced a classic case of “blow back.” Turkey now faces the prospect of the illegal PKK (Kurdistan Worker’s Party) and Kurdistan being used by Israel and Washington to extort concessions from it. For one thing, Turkey is reputed to be Russian Gazprom’s second largest customer after the EU—and that gives Russia at least some influence over its actions. In the current situation, this influence could be negated, leading to a flood of Azerbaijani oil through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline that connects the Israeli colony-state of Azerbaijan to the Mediterranean Turkish port of Ceyhan. This would have a negative impact on Russian oil revenues—further tightening the sanctions noose—as Russia now delivers oil to one end of the Trans-Israel pipeline in Ashkelon, which is then reloaded onto tankers in Eilat for trans-shipment to Asia.
According to Roi Tov, expatriate Israeli, between 1967 and the overthrow of the Iranian Shah, the Trans-Israel pipeline, running between Eilat and Ashkelon, was used to transport crude oil from Iran to Europe. Since 2003, he says, Russia has used it to supply Asian markets as this route is shorter than the traditional one around Africa, and cheaper than via the Suez Canal.[vi]
Such a plan to throttle Turkey was actually alluded to by extremist Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman who proposed Israel support the PKK against Turkey. Roi Tov relates the angry response of Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu to the effect that no one would be able to threaten Turkey this way.[vii]
II. Strengthening Iraqi/Israeli Kurdistan
The Mosul-Haifa pipeline, the main outlet of Iraqi oil prior to 1948 could again become an Israeli energy artery, Tov states in the previous article.
And ISIS could be the key to making that happen—just look where U.S. military advisors are stationed and where U.S. and NATO aerial missions will be flown out of. Hint: Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said on Sept. 11th that “armed and manned” U.S. aircraft would fly from Erbil, the capital of the autonomous Kurdish region aka Kurdistan;
The importance of Syria in the energy/pipeline equation as well as being a port for Russia’s fleet at Tartus—vital to maintain a portion of Russia’s energy exports to the East–makes it imperative to remove Assad from power and ISIS is just what the doctor ordered to get around that pesky 2013 Russian-brokered peace deal;
IV. Cleansing Lebanon
Israel has sought to eliminate Hezbollah in the past but has failed due to technological innovation in antitank weaponry and the superiority of Hezbollah fighters. The recent bloodbath in Gaza—while showing Israel’s prowess in devastating unarmed civilian areas–demonstrated the ineffectiveness of Israeli ground forces even against a poorly armed and marginally trained fighting force. ISIS offers the possibility of having a fanatic ground force to mount an attack in combination with NATO and Israeli aerial (drone and fighter/bomber) and missile assets; and,
V. Iranian counterrevolution?
ISIS would have little success unaided against Iran but with a massive Israeli missile strike and NATO bombing, could play a role in toppling the revolutionary government in conjunction with the MEK and other foreign assets and NGOs spearheading a counter-revolution in Iran.
According to noted commentator Pepe Escobar the major Iranian card in the Asian integration game is the gigantic South Pars natural gas field (which Iran shares with Qatar). It is estimated to hold at least 9% of the world’s proven natural gas reserves…Russia and Iran together control roughly 20% of the world’s oil reserves and nearly 50% of its gas reserves. Says Escobar: “Think about that for a moment. It’s little wonder that, for the leadership of both countries as well as China’s, the idea of Asian integration, of the Grid, is sacrosanct. ..If it ever gets built, a major node on that Grid will surely be the prospective $7.6-billion Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) pipeline, also known as the ‘peace pipeline.’ After years of wrangling, a nearly miraculous agreement for its construction was initialed in 2008. At least in this rare case, both Pakistan and India stood shoulder to shoulder in rejecting relentless pressure from the Bush administration to scotch the deal.”[viii]
And this is one thing ISIS directly and indirectly can be used to prevent.
Are there any events in world history that parallel the creation of ISIS? I can think of one that corresponded with the last major change in the world order—the Second World War. And, curiously, American Neocons seem to celebrate this very causative event in their pre-911 longing for a “Pearl Harbor-like” event to galvanize American public opinion for war in the Mid East.[ix]
The rearmament of Germany prior to this war, for instance, was made possible with the assistance of Wall St. and London financiers. One sees echoes of this in the blogosphere where David Cohen, U.S. Treasury’s Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, recently wrote in a blog post that the U.S. would be working with other countries, especially Gulf States, to cut off ISIS external funding networks and its access to the global financial system. Commendable—but in a world where sanctions can be imposed on Syria, Iran and Russia in a matter of days—why has it taken several years to do this? Ditto for the sale of ISIS-hijacked (stolen) oil in Texas.
More to the point is the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Americans in 1941 were told this was a brutish surprise attack by subhuman, bespectacled and buck-toothed Nipponese, much like modern Americans are told the ISIS threat from obscurantist bearded “terrorists” appeared clear out of the blue. Like the ISIS threat, however, close scrutiny of history shows that this threat was manufactured.
Firstly, members of the Japanese general staff were politely invited to observe an attack on Pearl Harbor from an aircraft carrier in the 1928-9 period. The same ships hit in 1941 were moored in the same berths and were hit with sacks of flour in the 1920s attack. In command of the demonstration attack was the highly competent naval officer Ernst Joseph King (who launched another surprise attack on Pearl in 1938 to highlight his claim that the air defenses were grossly inadequate and needed to be strengthened—and was ignored by FDR.) The carrier-launched planes took off from the USS Lexington (then designated CV-2).[x]
Not only were the Japanese given a visual demonstration of the power of carrier-launched aircraft (which they had begun developing on their own) but they were given detailed technical, logistic, material and intelligence help by the British in a quasi-official program to aid Japan to (1) build and equip aircraft carriers (2) obtain powerful planes/engines (using Rolls Royce technology) suitable for carrier operations and (3) train carrier-based pilots capable of utilizing this equipment.
In an apparent effort to whitewash the affair, BBC2 aired a revealing documentary “The Fall of Singapore, The Great Betrayal” by Paul Elston, which was recently pulled from the BBC website but is still on YouTube as of this writing.[xi]
In a nutshell, a peer, Lord Semphill of the British Admiralty started assisting Japan after an officially-sponsored visit in 1921. Although Japan was soon removed from the list of British allies, Semphill continued aiding the Japanese and was awarded several medals including “3rd Order of the Rising Sun”. Despite repeated investigations by MI5, Semphill was protected by successive British governments, including that of Winston Churchill.
One of Semphill’s associates did not fare as well. Frederick Rutland, a former Royal Naval Air Service carrier pilot was instrumental in helping Mitsubishi Corp. train carrier-based pilots for the attack on Pearl. However, he was turned over to the Americans who interned him for the duration of the war. He committed suicide shortly after his release.
As with ISIS, we are to believe Semphill and Rutland acted in a vacuum, without any official or unofficial sanction.

WikiLeaks has published the ‘Kissinger Cables’: its largest public release of documents in nearly a year, totaling some 1.7-million classified files, including information on the U.S.’s secret diplomatic history. Among the other information released is the revelation that the Vatican may have collaborated with the US in supporting the Pinochet coup in Chile, which saw in a regime of bloodshed and disappearances.

In the late 1920s, King took the opportunity to earn his wings and took command of the carrier Lexington; U.S. Navy doctrine at the time required carrier captains to also qualify as a member of the air crew, hence King’s need to qualify as a pilot. As the skipper of an aircraft carrier, King was able to study aviation closely. For additional details on King see:
