Project Coast: Who’s Behind the Recent Ebola Outbreak?, by Vladimir Platov

un

The report issued by the World Health Organization states that the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa is the largest and most complex since the detection of the virus in 1976. This outbreak has reached an all time high in both the number infected with the virus and those deceased from it than in all the previous outbreaks combined. The outbreak started in March 2014 in Guinea and it soon jumped across the border to Sierra Leone and Liberia, and then the infected brought the virus via air and land transport to Nigeria and Senegal. But this time around, the virus was not simply spreading across Africa, but it had managed to reach other continents.

However, if one is to study the facts carefully, then a question arises: how is it that a virus that was first identified in 1976 “suddenly” became so active and able to spread across the African continent and beyond?

To get an answer one must study the history of US secret experiments in this area, although Washington strives to hide it from public attention.

Qatar, the “Gas Midget”, playing poker with Russia ?, by Vladimir Simonov

qatar-military-771x512

The Qatari newspaper Al Raya which is close to the family of Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and expresses the official viewpoint of Qatar ran a story on December 1 under the headline “Syria: the seventh Muslim district of Russia” by Mahmud Zaaluk. The article offers a curious view on Moscow’s Middle East policy. Here is an excerpt: “Observing the destruction of Syria, it seems as if we are watching the final episode of a Russian TV serial. We missed the previous episodes … because if they were translated into Arabic, they would cause us to shed enough tears to drown the entire Middle East. … Today, Moscow’s Middle East screenplay is being filmed with Iran as the film director. The Arabs are simply spectators. Syria is where the filming of the serials is taking place, but it’s Russia alone that will reap the profits of the show.” He continues: “More than three hundred years ago, Russia had an area of no more than 400,000 square kilometers, but today the Russian flag flies over more than 17 million square kilometers! Historically, Russia was a small state in northeastern Europe, but then the tsars decided to enlarge the country at the expense of the Muslims. They managed to capture several major Islamic states: the Siberian, Astrakhan and Crimean khanates, Turkestan and lands in the Caucasus and the Urals.” Then at the end: “It seeks to acquire new lands to make them its own and completely assimilate the local population. And that is what is happening today with Syria. … The world has been stunned as it watches Russia savor the sight of the blood of hundreds of thousands of dead Syrians. The reason is that Russia has benefits from their destruction, exhaustion and deportation. As it systematically destroys the Syrian people, Russia simultaneously wants to develop a new generation of Syrians who will be brought up exclusively in the Russian culture. Genocide of all the Middle East peoples is occurring today, in its significance similar to what Moscow did to those Islamic states where Muslims have become a minority that has to fight for its freedom.”

Sergei Glaziev: stupidity is worse than theft

Dear friends,

Today is my my privilege to submit to you the full text of the recent article by Sergei Glaziev “Stupidity Is Worse Then Theft” originally published on the World Crisis website:

http://worldcrisis.ru/crisis/1716266.

I want to thank all those who participated in this difficult and long translation: Alice, S, Gideon, Marina (translation) and D.M. Pennington, Michael, Peter, Heather, Bernie, Patricia, Tom, Kristin  (editing).  This is a crucial text which is made available to the English-speaking world only thanks to the fantastic job of these volunteers.  Thank you guys!

Also, a reader of the French Saker Blog named “DePassage” (merci!) has called our community’s attention to a most interesting analysis made by  Jon Hellevig the Awara Group entitled “Putin 2000 – 2014, Midterm Interim Results: Diversfication, Modernization and the Role of the State in Russia’s economy” which you can find on this page http://www.awarablogs.com/putin-midterm-interim-results/ and which I strongly urge you to read.  It might give you a better sense of where the Russian economy is, along with a few surprises.

Clearly, until the combat operations resume (which the most probably will), the “economic front” is the most important one in the war against Russia and I will try to continue to bring to you alternative top-quality information and analyses to try to debunk the imperial media’s narrative.

Cheers and kind regards,

The Saker

Why did the Central Bank raise the interest rate and let the ruble flow? Author: Sergei Glazyev, academic RAS (Russian Academy of Sciences)

Another increase in key interest rates on loans issued by the Bank of Russia, for the purpose of refinancing commercial banks, made loans completely inaccessible for the majority of enterprises of the real sector of the economy. When the average profitability of the manufacturing industry is 7.5-8%, credit issued at rates of 10% or higher cannot be used by most businesses, either for investment or for replenishing working capital. Such decisions cut off the real economy, with the exception of some sectors of the oil, gas, and chemical-metallurgical sector, from credit issued by the State.

Another Overview Of The Situation In Syria, Moon of Alabama

The U.S. has given up on the Fee Syrian Army in the north of Syria:

The United States has stopped paying most of the pro-western rebels fighting in northern Syria and has suspended the delivery of arms to them, rebel commanders told McClatchy Tuesday.

Some of the FSA mercenaries, now no longer getting paid, are joining jihadi groups:

As many as 800 to 1,000 fighters from U.S.-vetted rebel groups already have joined Nusra, …

The stop of support in the north is confirmed by additional reports. That this is likely real can also be seen in the number of arms video posted. The U.S. gave TOW anti-tank missiles to the mercenaries but demanded video uploads to prove their use. Eliot Higgins, though not always trustworthy, counted these numbers:

TOW videos posted by the opposition by month Apr 9 May 16 Jun 16 Jul 37 Aug 35 Sep 44 Oct 58 Nov 26 Dec 3

The U.S. is still paying for some small FSA groups within Aleppo city but these are now surrounded by the Syrian Arab Army and unlikely to be able to hold their positions. Their hold of Aleppo city is politically symbolic and therefore something the U.S. wants them to keep. It is the reason why the UN envoy is trying to negotiate a ceasefire for Aleppo. Syria and Russia areplaying along but Aleppo will likely be completely in government hands before any ceasefire is reached.
