Conversation:The Spirit Of Aotearoa

Published on Jul 24, 2013

Te RārangaTira is a kaupapa that brings together a diverse group of young Māori from across Aotearoa and Te Waipounamu that are committed to creating positive change for their whanau, hapu, iwi and wider community.

We have come together to explore a process that looks at what we are doing, why we are doing it and tap into our hearts, minds and wairua to build connections and unlock the potential that dwells within.

Kia Ora,

New Zealand is not just rugby and shrimps on the barbie. Aotearoa, the Maori name for New Zealand, is the land of the people of this great country. The Maori people who have welcomed all of us immigrants.

Maori custom stands for human dignity, freedom and liberation of the mind ultimately. It is not about appointed overlords dictating ‘law’.

Te Kahu Rolleston embodies this spirit like none other as he works to lift the young men and women so that they may rise and claim their seat in their country.
